This is an advertising campaign for a video game Halo 3. However the adverts are presented to the audience in the style of a documentary filled with interviews. The interviewee’s are questioned on their role in the ‘war’ and memories. The interviewer dissects the subject as if it was a real witnesses account.
The advertising campaign has a militant theme that is conveyed in the text and its format (the font of the text, and where it appears on the screen). The adverts production value makes the campaign successful because its very convincing, the museum looks real, although futuristic the weapons look real in context to there video games counter parts. The ambience that is created within in the museum (by the background noise and music) conveys a vast cold space with undertones of sadness and desperation. This ambience is also reflected in the speech of the interviewees as these themes are conveyed in their accounts. The choice of the interviewer is perfect; he is well spoken and speaks with a sincere tone. The sincere tone shows it’s a delicate subject but also conveys his interest. These characteristics, give him creditability reinforcing the believability.
I would like to emulate the videos ambience and its narration/interviewer.
